PRIVACY STATEMENT

Advanced Real Estate Learning Center ® (“ARELC”) wants you to know that we TAKE YOUR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. Because we gather certain types of information about our Account holders, you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This Privacy Statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.  Please scroll down the page and learn more about our Privacy Statement and how it affects you.

Registration/Subscription Account

ARELC offers core and elective state pre-license and continuing education courses in the real estate or other industries, which are delivered online in streaming video or “webinar” format (“Course”). 
In order to use this Site and view the Courses we provide, you must first create an “Account” with user name and password.  During the registration process, we will request certain Personally Identifiable Information from you.  For example, you must provide us with your contact information, credit card number and expiration date.

“Personally Identifiable Information” for the purposes of this Privacy Statement shall include any or all of the following information:  Your name, home or business address(es); home, business or cellular telephone number(s); email address(es); your credit or debit card information, including the card issuer, card number, expiration date, or other identifying information on the card; checking account number(s); real estate or other professional state license number; or any other information that is associated with you as an individual or an Account holder.
We use Personally Identifiable Information for billing purposes, to establish your Account, and to provide you with information. If we have trouble processing the purchase of a Course, we will use your address(es), telephone number(s), or email address(es) to contact you.
ARELC is the sole owner of the information collected on the Site. ARELC collects Personally Identifiable Information from our users at several different points on our Site.

General
We may view your activity on your Account including when you access your Account, what you viewed while using your Account and any information that you post, submit or transmit using your Account (collectively “Account Activity”). 
ARELC may send you electronic correspondence, including, without limitation, marketing information and information relating to your Account.  You hereby grant ARELC your express written consent to engage in unsolicited communications with you for a period of 12 months from the last day you access your Account. 

We gather and use personal information about you when you register your Account.  We track your usage and management of your Account and use of the Site, to process your Course purchases, better understand your needs, adjust your Account to your personal preferences, send you e-mail and announcements, communicate Course, attendance and testing information to state agencies, and for other similar business purposes.  We do not in the regular course of our business disclose or sell mailing lists containing Personally Identifiable Information about you to any outside parties.  Also, we will not share your personal information with any outside parties without your permission, unless such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process or to protect the personal safety of our users, employees, independent contractors or the public.   
   

Surveys or Contests

From time to time we may provide you with the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our Site. If you participate, we will request certain Personally Identifiable Information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary.  Therefore, you will not be required to provide any Personally Identifiable Information required of participants in the survey or contest if you decline to participate in the survey or contest in the first instance.  The requested Personally Identifiable Information typically includes contact information such as your name and billing/shipping address, and demographic information such as your zip code.  It may also include your Social Security Number if you win a prize that must be reported to the Internal Revenue Service.

Submissions
We may copy, distribute, display, edit or license any materials or content that you submit or contribute to your Account or the Site, or transmit to ARELC, including feedback, comments, and suggestions for improvement to the content or functionality of your Account, any Course, test or the Site (“Submissions”).  We may use your name in connection with your Submissions, provided that you may revoke your permission to use your name in connection with your Submissions by written notice to ARELC pursuant to the "Choice/Opt-Out" procedures set forth below.  ARELC is not obligated to publish or use any of your Submissions, and may remove such Submissions from display on your Account or on the Site at any time without notice to you, and without your consent.

Use of Personally Identifiable Information

The use of your Personally Identifiable Information depends on how it was collected.  We may share the Personally Identifiable Information we collect from you only with your consent or under the following conditions:

• ARELC Affiliates and Partners.  We work closely with our affiliates and partners, including real estate organizations, with which we may share your Personally Identifiable Information.  We will not, however, share with any Affiliate or Partner any credit or debit card information, or any other information that could be used to execute a financial transaction involving your Account with ARELC.

• Service Providers.  We may use third party companies and individuals to perform supporting functions for the various products and services offered through our Site on our behalf. These service providers are not permitted to use any of the Personally Identifiable Information collected from you for any purpose other than performing support functions for ARELC or offering additional services, promotions or other opportunities to you. You will have the option to decline to receive any offers of additional services, promotions or other opportunities by using the “Choice/Opt Out” procedures set forth below.  We will not share any of your credit or debit card information or any other information that could be used to execute a financial transaction involving your Account with ARELC, with any Service Provider.  From time to time we may use a third-party advertising company to serve ads when you visit the Site. Such company may use certain information other than Personally Identifiable Information about your visit to the Site in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may be of interest to you. In the course of serving advertisements to this Site, our third-party advertising company may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser. 

• Legal Disclaimer.  We will release Personally Identifiable Information about you, including Course information, attendance and Course testing and/or other such related information, to one or more state agencies or real estate organizations involved in regulating your real estate or other license.  We will also release Personally Identifiable Information about you if we believe that such action is appropriate to: (1) Comply with legal process, (2) enforce the Terms and Conditions of the Site (which are incorporated herein), or (3) identify, contact or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to us or a third party, or to otherwise protect the rights, property or personal safety of ARELC, its employees, other site users or others.

 

• Asset Transfers.  As we continue to develop our business, we may choose to buy other businesses, portions of another business or assets. Personally Identifiable Information is generally one of the transferred assets.  Therefore, if we should choose to sell some or all of our assets, Personally Identifiable Information, including information collected from you through the Site, could be included in the transferred assets. If any sale of our assets does include the transfer of your Personally Identifiable Information to the transferee, we will notify you of the pending transfer and give you an opportunity to decline to have your Personally Identifiable Information transferred as part of the transaction.

• If we disclose any of your Personally Identifiable Information to a third party during the course of rendering services to you, we will require that third party to use such Information only for the purposes of rendering the services to you available at or through our Site. If you do not wish to have your Personally Identifiable Information disclosed to a third party (other than disclosures required or permitted by law), you may exercise this request by our Choice/Opt-Out procedures set forth below.

• "Choice/Opt-Out." When we request you to provide us with your Personally Identifiable Information, we will provide you the opportunity to “opt-out” of having your Personally Identifiable Information used for purposes for which you decline to give permission.  For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference to us by emailing us at support@affordableCEtraining.com.

Cookies

We, or third party service providers engaged by us, may place text files called “cookies” in the browser files of your computer to track usage of the Site, your Account, or web pages within the Site.  The cookies themselves do not contain personal information about you, although they will enable us to relate your use of the Site or your Account to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided to us.  The only personal information cookies can contain is information you supply yourself.  Cookies cannot read data on your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. We use cookies to track user traffic patterns.  We may also use cookies when you register for your Account.  In these situations, a cookie will store useful information that enables the Site or your Account to remember you when you return to visit us.
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser.  If you have set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie.  Please refer to your browser instructions for information regarding erasing, blocking, and receiving warnings for cookies.

This Site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we at ARELC are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our Site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Statement applies solely to information collected by this Site.   Special Offers and Updates
We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special promotions. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications.  Please see the "Choice/Opt-out" procedures above.

Service-related Announcements
We will send you strictly service-related announcements when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.

Customer Service
Based upon the Personally Identifiable Information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you relating to your Course purchases, in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your Account. We will communicate with you by email.

Profile
We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and or third party sources to create a "Profile" of your preferences. We link your Personally Identifiable Information, and your purchasing history, to information in the Profile, in order to provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve the content of the Site for you.  We do not share your Profile with any third parties.

Correction/Updating Personally Identifiable Information
If your Personally Identifiable Information changes (such as address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will enable you to correct, update or remove the Personally Identifiable Information that you provided to us. This can be done within your Account or by emailing our Customer Support at support@affordableCEtraining.com.

Security

The security of your Personally Identifiable Information is important to us. When you provide us with your Personally Identifiable Information (such as credit card numbers) on our registration or order forms, we protect that Information with encryption software.  We operate secure data networks protected by industry standard security protocols, such as (if and where appropriate) firewalls, encryption, and password protection systems.  Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary, and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our users.  
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect your Personally Identifiable Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.  Any method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is not 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we use commercially standard means to protect your Personally Identifiable Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Aggregate Information (Non-Personally Identifiable Information)
We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers.  This aggregated information does not identify individual users.

Log Files

As is true for most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.  We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the Site, to track users' movements around the Site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.  We do not link this automatically-collected data to any Personally Identifiable Information.

Notification of Changes

If ARELC decides to change this Privacy Statement, we will post any changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any we disclose it.  If at any point we decide to use Personally Identifiable Information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.  Users will have a choice about whether or not we use their Personally Identifiable Information in this different manner. Subject to our right to change this Privacy Statement in effect at the time Personally Identifiable Information was collected from you, we will at all times use any Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with the applicable Privacy Statement under which the information was collected.
